Bridgestone BT-012 SS - The Battlax BT-012 SS rear tyres are built with a revolutionary Dual Belt Construction to maintain a high level of grip, rotation power, and shock absorption. A Dual Belt Construction, which means that one belt on each shoulder is on top of the Kevler Mono Spiral Belt, improves both corner grip and manoeuvrability. The centre area inside the tire is left open to improve straightway stability.
By using the new Silica Rich compound in rear tyres, BT-012 SS offers enhanced grip in wet conditions and low temperatures, ensuring excellent handling from the moment the motorcycle starts moving. The new Silica Rich Compound also provides more consistency and longer lasting grip.
3D CTDM is Bridgestone's newest automated tyre design technology. The leading-edge 3D CTDM program enables Bridgestone to conduct dynamic, three-dimensional simulations and analysis of tyre performance and to find optimum solutions at all lean angles.
The tread patterns are designed using 3D CTDM, incorporating smoother curves to minimize hydroplaning in wet conditions. The front tyre's pattern was designed to maximise high-speed stability while minimising vibration. The rear tyre has high negative ratio to enhance cornering grip and cornering stability.
The convex tyre profiles give quicker and lighter handling in tight corners. The 3D CTDM designed profiles maximise the lateral stiffness (grip) and maintain linear contact pressure at all lean angles (handling).
In the new Battlax range, CTDM maximizes the horizontal stiffness, and MSB secures vertical cushion.
MS BELT - Underpinning this improvement is the use of a steel Mono Spiral Belt (MSB) construction, with a continuous single cord wrapped around the circumference of the tyre in order to eliminate seams, joints and the overlapping of belts.
While MSB is lighter than a conventional multi-cross belt, it provides greater stability by minimising internal heat generation.
Bridgestone is the first manufacturer to employ five single steel filaments in an MSB cord. The filaments are separated from one another and twisted in a rubber coating that ensures equal and constant tension. Known as ‘High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord' (HTSPC), this technology produces high stiffness combined with flexibility and excellent shock absorption.

Compound - Developed for this line, the new Silica compound of BT-012SS provides improved and exceptional grip level on both dry and wet surface without sacrificing high-speed durability.
Profile - The optimised BT-012SS profile offers maximum and constant contact pressure at all lean angles, thereby improving both grip and handling. This was only possible with the complex optimisation of the 3D-CTDM program, perhaps the most advanced and complex computer program used today. After a dynamic three-dimensional analysis, the 3D CTDM maximises lateral stiffness (grip) and maintains uniform contact pressure at all camber angles (neutral handling).

Pattern - The front tread pattern has been developed utilising another of
Bridgestone's advanced digital technology programs: a hydro-planing simulation program.All grooves are designed to dispel water in the most efficient manner.
The front tyre "blocks" form unbroken and continuous contact with the surface. Together with the 3D-CTDM designed profile, this unique front pattern solves handling or grip problems.
The aggressive rear pattern offers traction in corners. The main diagonal groove gives optimum rigidity and efficient heat emission, for better high-speed durability.
